Smile Reining Saddle Suggestions

Hello all,
Please forgive me as I am new to online forums and this is my first post.
I have been looking some time now for the "perfect" Reining saddle. I am currently riding in a Dakota Rough out Training saddle and looking into something I can show locally in. I have been going back and forth between New versus Used, as well as all of the different brands. I am wiling to spend about $800-1,000.
I look forward to all of your suggestions!

Welcome! If you have a trainer, they most likely have a brand they recommend, and perhaps have some that you can try so you can get something you are comfortable in that fits your horse. I personally like Bob's Custom saddles, but they can be pricey, and there are many different models. I like butterfly skirts for close contact, deep pocket, and a narrow twist to the tree which is easier on my hips. Mine is a KR, my friend has a Duane Latimer-bother run around $2K used. U also have had a Rocking R, which was my first reiner, and I loved it-you can sometimes find those used for around $900. My friend had a Crates-which she loved-it was a bit lighter, but honestly-the trainers we know like Continentals, Sean Ryons, Leddy-all too expensive, alto you may be able to find a used Continental.

Good luck!

Wow! Thank you! That message gave me a lot of things to look into and consider. I am not Currently riding with a trainer, but I might need to consider finding one and trying out their saddles before I purchase one.
Thank You again!
