Has anyone tried these? I'm thinking about getting a pair.I like the looks of them and they have ventilation holes which helps drain water, sand, and small pebbles. Gidget is very tender footed when it comes to gravel.

Let me know.

I never used them, but number of trail riders I know do. They all like them, but they have to be fit very well or you'll be loosing them on trail (I've heard it happens).

Call or email the company. They can help guide you on taking pictures of your horse's feet. They should be able to tell you if the boots will work based on pictures. My girl's heels are low, so I can't help you there. It took me almost a year, but I got her to go from upright "halter horse" feet to much more normal healthy bare feet. We just didn't ride on any gravel or rocks until her feet were good enough to fit in boots. I had the EasyBoot Edge boots first, then bought her some of the Renegades. The Edge boots seem to fit a wider variety of hoof shapes, but the Renegades are easy to use and stay on without them being super tight.

I love my boots. The only problems that I have had keeping the boots on was that the velcro strap on one of the boots no longer stayed stuck and needed to be replaced. After I replaced it, I had not problems at all. The second time I lost the boot was on a trail ride. After two 2 years of having these boots, the cables broke. Luckly another rider found the piece I lost.

I just sent them in for repair and I am ordering another set. I love these boots for my mare as she has flat soles and cannot travel on gravel or rocks. I have been in and out of the Lake, ponds, creeks, mud, and scaled mountains with these boots and never had a problem with them.

Highly reccommended!

I really like Easyboot Epics. I haven't tried the Renegades, so I can't compare them to those. (But if you buy Renegades, please tell us how you like them!).

I have tried Easyboot Bares and the original Old Macs and Easyboot Gloves (Gloves didn't fit my horse's foot shape) so I keep going back to the Epics.

I sometimes have to replace cables (which I found I can buy at places like Home Depot) and patch the gaiters because they rip easily, but the boots themselves are virtually indestructible. I have only actually worn out one pair.

But I have been very curious about the Renegades!

I bought a pair renegade because thats what the trimmer recommended. They worked awesome, only problem I had was one of the straps disappeared. It was there all day and I know this because I was kind of skeptical of the boots so I kept checking them all day. Anyways, when we loaded them in the trailer to bring them home, the straps were all there and when I unloaded him at home and went to take the boots off one was missing. I noticed when I put them on and tightened the straps down that there was a lot extra, I should have cut the extra off. Oh well, they sent 2 extra straps with the boots.
