Riding Boots - Field boots are always to long? ):

So I've been wanting to buy and tried on a million Field Boots.

they are ALL to long /: I really like the ariat ones, and ordered a size 7, regular calf and the shortest length (unsure if it was short or x-Short)

anyway, foot and calf fit perfectly, so comfy, but I can't bend my knee /: The shop keeper suggested getting them cut (like cut the top off so making it shorter) and gave me a number to a guy who does it. The boots are about 1/2 - 1 inch to long/high.

My main question is has anyone need to cut theirs down cause there a super shorty like me? or know of anyone? or know of any Field boots that have xxxxx-short ??

Thanks heaps in advance! (I also know that they will drop and crumple with wear)

also didn't really know where to put this, so I thought it's close enough to tack :P

The boots will collapse a little when the ankle breaks in. Yes, cutting them down is not hard, if they know what they are doing. BUT, don't do it until the boots are broken in, or they might end up too short.

When I buy custom boots, I always add 1 inch to allow for breakin.

A whole inch will fall? didn't think it was that much, yes thank you, I think I'll buy them and give the shoe guy a call just to make sure he does it, then will wait till they are worn in.

how long roughly does it take to fully crumple and fall?

Absolutely. All that stiff leather around your ankle will soften and fold as you walk and ride in them. As it does the top will drop about an inch almost every time.
