I ride in my Ovation Schooler and all my kids are in IRH's. The IRH helmets cost me $27 a piece. They are a little rounder than the Ovation Schooler but the kids don't mind it. I like them because despite the dial button, there's still a spot they can slip their pony tails through. But like Corporal said, wearing one is a good start no matter what brand, and that's coming from someone who couldn't be paid to wear a helmet in the past, even after a nasty accident. Kids do funny things to ya. LOL!

I can relate - it gets quite hot here in OK too which is why I went on a helmet hunt and found the Ovation schooling helmet for $50 at my local tack shop.

I have a Tipperary Sportage and it's great! Very classy looking, lightweight, and comfortable. They just started making them in white, so that should be extra cool. Literally. :) I've had cheaper dial-fit helmets but they always gave me a headache.
