RTF anyone?

So, I am looking into buying a rtf (rotate to fit) saddle from dover.

Circuit Premier Victory RTF Saddle | Dover Saddlery

I wanted to know if anyone has ever had one before and if so if it is worth it. The reason I want one is because I am always riding different horses and at this point it makes more sense to have a saddle that I can change over easily then a saddle with a fit tree.

Honestly, I wouldnt buy a saddle unless you have one horse to fit it to. Even though you can adjust the width of the tree, doesnt mean you can make it fit. It seems like a lot of money to put into a saddle that probably wont fit many horses.

The only problem is, is that I need a saddle. Where I am going, I can't keep on using the other persons saddle because for example they have their horse boarded at another stable so I can't use it...therefore I ride with no saddle. Which isn't a problem but this summer when I am showing I won't have a saddle.

Never heard of this so I was intrigued. Here's what Dover say:

RTF (Rotate To Fit) RTF is revolutionary in its ability to allow a rider to change the tree width by fractions of an inch with just a twist of an Allen wrench inserted into a discreet slot located on top of the pommel.

Why would you want to do this? Okay, maybe you would. Just maybe.

No additional tools and no strength are required to make the change.

Adjustments are so quick and easy that they can be done while the saddle sits on a horse's back to achieve a precise fit.

Utter rubbish. It's impossible to get an accurate fit this way.

The system is also durable enough so that one saddle can be adjusted for use on multiple horses throughout the day--perfect for riders with multiple horses.

But why would you bother? If you're riding that many you'd probably just sling it on the next one and mount up. Anyway, screw-thread adjustments (and it sounds like this is one) always wear, specially if they're used a lot.

Just my view, but I'd love to be proved wrong. Particularly the screw-adjust part because a few manufacturers have tried it before and failed.

I actually sat in one. It was an HDR, and you litterally change it from narrow to wide with an allen wrench. My other option is to get a medium tree used saddle that I like a lot.....but because I ride a lot I was thinking the RTF would be better
