    A question for Cheval:
    Aren't close contact saddles made for jumping?

    As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, "close contact" saddles are jumping saddles that fit very close to the horse, hence the term close contact. They are still a jumping saddle. If you have good leg position, then having a close contact saddle (which does not have much of a knee roll) should not matter. I prefer them when jumping, actually, as compared to an all around saddle, because I don't feel like there's a whole bunch of tack between me and my horse...
    I'm not meaning to sound condescending at all, please forgive me if I do!!
