Saddle Advice

I'm looking for an all-purpose saddle that is fairly inexpensive...I have heard collegiates are a good brand. Is that true? Are there any other nice brands? Thanks for any input!

The old Collegiates are pretty decent middle-of-the-road saddles. I have one myself; its a really good fit for me (very comfortable) and it fits a wide range horses at my barn....though I do have to use a riser pad for the high withered horses. Be wary of the newer Collegiates, the leather is of lesser quality.

I would go for a used name brand saddle rather than a new cheap saddle. You really get what you pay for.

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

I agree. There are some pretty sweet saddles out there that second hand but they are nicer than new saddles a lot of the time. They are already broken in and the quality will make the saddle last forever.
