Saddle Brands

So I tryed out my hdr pro senior eventing saddle today. I realized what I really need is a close contact saddle. Guess who's in the market for a saddle again? Out of these brands which do you reccomend: Pessoa, HDR, M Toulouse. Are there any others you like? Preferably under 1,000 dollars used

I tried out saddles this weekend and the m. Toulouse annice was nice... the dover circuit version was really close and I think the Colligate Parfaire is super close as well. All of them have nice supple, grippy leather. You can find the collegiate for $700 online fairly easily.

MT all the way! :) I'm not the biggest fan of Pessoa (I owned one and found it to be quite slippery) and HDR (although at least one of their last models I've seen in Dover looked and felt very nicely). As for used ones you can look into Stubben, Duett, Thornhill (last 2 are designed towards wider horses).

An older Steuben is the best. First saddle I was ever comfortable in. And Danielle has an Antares

M. Toulouse is my suggestion.

Pessoa's don't seem to have leather that takes work loads all that well. Every Pessoa I've seen is extremely discolored from even light use.

I have an older HDR, and it was nice, but it just didn't put me in the best position. It's ancient though. I'm not knowledgeable on the newer models, though I hear some are quite nice.

M. Toulouse and Stubben are my recommendations. Both are very nice, well made saddles, and can be bought used for well under $700.00.
