Saddle Buying, Help

So I'm looking in to buying a new saddle before show season, so before May possibly June. I don't really know enough about saddles nor do I have a parent who knows enough about saddles to help me really decide what brand. I've heard good stuff about Wintec's and I've also heard bad stuff about them. Could you guys help me? What sort of saddle would you reccommend getting. It can't be over $1000 and it only needs to be an All-Purpose.

I was pretty happy with the Wintec 500 saddle I had that you almost bought, I liked the look and it was very easy to care for. Some people just really prefer the look and feel of leather, though..so that's more of a personal choice.

I've never used synthetic which is why i'm kinda concerned about getting a synthetic. I looked on Wintec's website and some of the saddles look half synthetic and half leather which makes me pretty happy.

What are your concerns? I have to say I've used both synthetic and leather and I find synthetics more comfortable. They're more naturally broken in, if that makes sense? But it does take longer to find ones you like, which is the downside. Synthetic is also cheaper, and easier to care for.

I've ridden in a couple of Wintecs and they are very comfortable and easy to clean. I'm just one of those people that loves to clean leather lol. It's relaxing.

Lol. My concerns are I guess that it won't be as good quality as leather and that it won't look as good. I think I will consider trying a few Wintec's unless you guys happen to have any other saddle brands you really like.

They do tend to break down easier, say ten years instead of twenty. But IMO, the price difference makes up for the extra money you spend later.

Okay cool. I'll be getting a new saddle before then lol. But yes. I think i'll go with a wintec

All Wintecs are all fully synthetic, however. Some are part fake suede and part fake leather but they're all synthetic.

If you have $1000 to spend I would buy a very nice quality used leather saddle. While Wintecs are hands down the nicest synthetics out there, I don't think they are anywhere close to a quality leather one.
