Saddle Fit with Pictures

After almost an entire year of searching and trying saddles I have finally found a saddle that I am in love with

The company has been just amazing to work with and the saddle makes me feel secure, is super lightweight (9 pounds), and Gem moved very well in it. It also has the changeable gullet system which for me is a must. I am so happy!!!

Here are some pictures of it on her. The ones without the pad are before I rode and the ones with the pad are right after. I have had the hardest time with saddles riding up her shoulders and onto her neck but this one didn't really budge. Have I mention how much I love it?!!?

Now I have to get a new girth. The billets on this are insanely long and mine is much too large now. Luckily my BO had a 26 inch that fit if it was all the way up, so I think I will look into getting a 24. It is also my first real leather saddle, so I need to read the threads about oil and care. I know there are a few of them, so I won't bother with a new one.

Thanks for looking!!!

Great! I am glad you have a saddle you love!

I am curious because of its peculiar design; what kind of saddle is it exactly? Endurance?

What a cool saddle!
I'm wondering the same thing. Endurance, cross-country, eventing?

It is actually a cross country saddle designed by Phillip Dutton for air flow and a cool back. The leather is super luxurious and you can't see it very well by there is a hole in the seat between your butt bones for additional air flow. I am using it for endurance, pleasure trail riding and small jumps in the arena. So far it is beyond comfy for both Gem and I and puts my leg in the correct position. I think the fit looks pretty good.

LOVE your saddle! I saw one a while back on a horse blog. Horse Junkies United, maybe? It just looks so comfy!

It looks awesome OP! I can see it being super comfy. Just don't let any barn kitties get to it :P

Sky - I know! There is one barn cat who got into the tack room a couple/few years ago and kneaded on someones nice leather saddle :( The BO felt so bad and actually paid to get it fixed. I have a lot if homework to do in learning how to care for it, but I am so relieved to find it. I was beginning to think I wouldn't find one that we both liked. :)
