Saddle fitting a little tight?

I recently got to try out a Crosby Vision (I think that's what its called, its the Ian Millar one) and it fit a liiiiiiittle tightly around the front when I slid my hand under it. My coach tried the old saddle on her and it fit a little loose, so we didn't know what exactly to do. She said go ahead and tack us Des anyways and we rode around a bit, Des moved soooo well under the saddle, my coach and even another lady in the arena said she looked really nice. So I was wondering, is it safe to buy a saddle that's a little squeezy in front, if my horse works fine in it?

Just to clarify, Des is NOT a horse that would go through pain to please. She would have let me know the second I sat down if she didn't like the feeling of the saddle. :p Also, she's a little chubby right now, so if she has some weight to lose, would that matter at all? Thanks!

If it is a little tight when you are not in the saddle in the front end, it'll be even more so when your bodies weight is in the saddle.

I wouldn't use a saddle that is tight in the front end, even if your mare doesn't show signs now, she will eventually when the saddle gets used regularily. That's like buying a pair of shoes that are a little snug when you are standing there in the shoe store, but when you start wearing them and walking around, you'll start showing signs of pain yourself.

I would contact a Professional Saddle Maker/Fitter to help you out.

Thanks for the advice, I see what you mean by if I was sitting in it it would only get tighter, we're going out today to have a professional take a look at it. :)
