Saddle Fittting?

I was looking at buying a new saddle but I don't know how to tell if it fits well.
One saddle i've tried has fitted for a few rides but hurt the horses back longterm.
I don't want to get a saddle fitter out because when I tried that THEY fitted it wrong and again, longterm it hurt the horses back.

Any tips on knowing whether or not the sadlle is a comfortable fit?
Or any saddle fitters that you trust, and recommend?

Post some pictures of it on the horse's back without a saddle pad and take pictures from the side and of the front of the saddle to show us the angles. Also include s dhot of the back to show how well the bars or panels fit.

English or western?

If you'd be in my area I'd give some recommendations for saddle fitter. But I'm afraid you are not. :(
