Saddle help!

Hi guys,

Well I bought my youngster a thorowgood T6 of ebay which was medium wide and I tried it on him and its too narrow so I thought its okay Il put a wide gullet in as they're meant to be adjustable. Then found out it wasnt adjustable as its the older model and they only have FISH inserts.
I have found another correct T6 model on EBAY that is already wide and has adjustable gullets plus fish so il be bidding for that but I may not get it.

Other thing is, the other lady at my yard let me try her old(half retired) horses saddle on Rico(my boy) and it fitted perfectly, I couldnt believe it so I thought great I can get the same one-its not a expensive saddle make so I thought I could get it and buy a new one when he's more mature... Only to find out that his is speciallymade to fit him although its obviously standard measurements such as wide.

So I was wondering.. Are all saddles classified as wide the same width? If you get me.. Because I know I need a 17" black wide saddle but I thought maybe they'd all differ.
The T6 one on Ebay will be my first hope but if not then I might have to look into getting a secondhand leather saddle so I need to know if I get him a 17" wide will it fit or are they all different?

They do tend to vary. I've had a medium in one saddle that was the same as another brand's wide. Maybe you would take some measurements (like gullet width) off the one that fits your horse and ask the seller to take the measurements in the same spots to compare?
Maybe someone else has a better idea
