Saddle Hunt :D

So, my boy is getting a new saddle. Yay. But, I swear after a few weeks of saddle hunting I'm going to give up. You see, Chinga's been a rather exspensive horse in the time we've had him... TB... exspensive taste. So Im not spending as much as I'd like to on his new saddle. I will be selling his other saddle so I can spend a little bit more. Basically the only reason I'm getting a new saddle is I'm having a fresh start with Chinga and I feel its time to upgrade.. lucky me.

But I cannot find anything that fits him! His quite high withered and I'm finding it really hard to find a "Cheaper" saddle that fits him, so any suggestions?

You ride English right? Have you ever thought of getting an Aussie saddle? They can be custom fit to the horse, and most aussie saddlery's do it for free, which is nice. Another bonus is the "wings" add a little bit more security. Also, cutback saddles are nice for high-withered horses, but you do have to get a seat size a little bigger than your normal English seat is, or at least that's how I feel. But I share your saddle shopping woes. I also have a TB, and he's a nightmare to shop for.

Yes I ride English, I'm hoping to event later on so an Aussie Saddle isn't really a very good option for me. So Im eaither going All Purpose or Event :D . But thanks for the suggestion.

Yes I am keeping him because he is in training now

whew you have a lot of money to spend then ! i dont think a collegiate would work well for a high withered horse, all the collegiates ive seen are made for horses with little to no withers.

I really like the Collegiate Diploma Convertible. Nelson is high withered and a TB and that fit him very nice.

Look into Stubben's, Harry Dabbs *I have the Harry Dabbs Origional Event and I love it!*

Can you get a saddle fitter/maker out in your area to help you on this search? Finding the right saddle is so time consuming and frustrating - it was for me.

All the best!
