Personally I love neatsfoot oil- because I love the darkening it causes. I use a sponge brush to apply it, let it soak in, and then paint some over my hands and work it in a second time. This isn't something I'd advise if you don't like your leather to darken, though, but it works wonders for me.

I am not really looking to darken my saddle as I like the coloring, just wanting to keep it soft. There are a few spots though that seemed to have faded that I may try that one.
