Saddle pads or C/C saddles?

I have one of these kinds of shaped pads:
Medallion Super-Quilt High-Profile Saddle Pad by Toklat | Dover Saddlery
And find that it sits funny with my C/C saddle...

Would I be better off with one of these?

I don't know either of them, sorry, but if your saddle fits well you are better with the simple quilted cotton pad. English pads are designed more to keep the saddle clean than to try on improve saddle fit.

Having said that though, I have just ordered a couple of these

PolyPads & Libbys Classic©

I used them in the UK before and loved them, so when I saw a couple at a great price I grabbed them quick

LOVE Polypads, I have a couple for my horse as, whilst his saddle fits well, his back is under muscled and they nicely cushion his back.

Different shaped numnahs or saddlecloths fit better with different saddles, and you can get high and low wither cloths designed to sit better over the horses withers, but if the saddle fits well then the numnah is only there to keep the saddle clean really.

Ahh, then it's difficult to say, I have a sheepskin half pad that I love, but I ca only use it with Willows saddle, I have a full 'fluffy' one like your first one, that I used with my Stubben, kept it when I sold the saddle but probably should of let it go, I think it will to small for the others.

Trial and error, all you should need is a plain cotton pad, but then again that is if you have a perfect fit. I am strange, I have one 5 star equine pad for my western saddle, but have a whole bunch of English ones of different colors, shapes and thickneseses
