Question Saddle pads / saddle fit - question

I've had my saddle fitted in the last month or so, which has helped my horse's back, but the problem of un-even pressure / hollowing still stands.
My horse has MASSIVE shoulders, so we have to push the saddle back a bit inorder to prevent pinched nerves & shoulder pressure. The original problem we had ( putting the saddle in the normal spot - more forward) caused hollowing behind his left shoulder, we moved the saddle back & added a gel pad. The hollowing filled out, and a recent discovery showed hollowing starting on the right side, a bit further back from the shoulders. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am thinking about getting a thicker half pad to help. Is there another material that is better than gel for pressure control?

Per my fitter suggestion I used one no-bow wrap Folded it double on the side where the hollow is and single on opposite side, and just used it like that for several months.

I just replied on another thread, I don't really see the logic to gel pads. Gel is displaced when pressure is applied. If you have a saddle that fits tight somewhere, that's exactly where the gel will NOT be. The pressure will squeeze it out to another area, which doesn't protect the area you're trying to protect. I would use something along the lines of a thinline pad that provides more consistent shock absorbtion, but then that's just me.

half pad, pressure, saddle pad
