Used is the way you want to go. Stick with name brands that you recognize: crosby, collegiate, HDR, wintec, stubben, courbette, etc. Some other brands that aren't made anymore but are decent include Avante, whippy, borreli, zaldi (still made, but not sold in the USA), etc.

Look for saddles that say made in any country in Europe or Argentina. Do NOT buy ANY no-name saddle. They are not worth it.

Hi , I am looking for used circle Y saddles, my friend told me circle Y saddle doesn't hurt the withers, so I need the narrow the gullet for my horse , I am from china, the chinese horse body is small.
So where can I get the saddles? ebay is good place. Do you have others?
And how about the farrers tools?
The brand diamond is made in USA? HOW about the brand heller?
So good quality tools can use for long time.
So please give me some opinions?
Thanks,

Pony, try www.welshssaddlery.com
I've gotten several saddles from them and have been more than happy with both. They carry several well noted brands such as Circle Y, Billy Cook, and Rocky Mountain Sadderly (I LOVE my saddle made by these guys!)
