Saddle Searching! Wintec Questions

Hey everyone, I am new here. Am enjoying reading all of the information!

Anyway, I am currently looking for a comfortable saddle for trailriding and early dressage work. I have a limited budget and am interested in the Wintec Saddles...

Anyone got any feedback on this one?

Thanks!

I have the Wintec AP 500 with CAIR. I much prefer my Passier, but I do like my Wintec as well.

I have a Wintec 250 AP saddle, it's synthetic - it's nice for keeping clean since you can just wash with soap and water! But not quite as comfy as leather and it's kinda squeaky sounding when riding sometimes (as are most synthetics). But it was only $269 so a great starter saddle!

For the price of a wintec new, you should be able to find some good used leather saddles.

I've ridden in wintecs before and while they were nice, and I didn't find it overly comfy and much prefer a leather saddle to synthetic ones.

It's one of those posts where what you will get is bias answers. The ones I own wintecs love them, the ones that can afford the more expensive leather saddles, hate wintecs.

Wintecs are without a doubt more affordable and the care and maintanance can't beat that of a leather saddle. Having said that they cannot be custom fit and are not as spiffy for showing.

My advice to you is to go out and try a few, see if you like them. There usually are people around who will be more than happy to let you ride in one. Go from there.

Cheers.

Cache, How can't they can't they be custom fit? I know some have wool flocking and they also have the gullet system.

I have a wintec, it is a great saddle but I am looking for a leather one, but if your budget is low , I would say look into wintec and used saddles, you can find awsome deals.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Wintec Pro Dressage saddle! It is my fav to ride in! But we have Stubben leathers on it, I don't like the Wintec ones. Wintecs are a great started saddle!

I have two wintec 500 ap saddles. And I CAN afford expensive leather saddles, I just sold my expensive leather stock saddle. I choose the wintecs because of the adjustable gullet. I go through a lot fo horses to being able to change the fit is really convenient. Mine are all flocking, not a big fan of CAIR. My first wintec was my first saddle, I have had it for 7 years, it has a little wear but is my most comfortable saddle. I reccomend though, getting the synthetic girth points replaced with leather ones. The synthetic ones crack and degenerate.
