Some of them seem to think that "big and brown" is good enough for "shoot now, identify later" hunting. I've actually been toying with the idea of temporarily cross-fencing the pasture to keep Aero up closer to the house, but the barn is at the back of the field and that would be kind of a pain. We do keep her in her bright halter, though, which I don't really like as I don't like leaving the halter on unless we are actively needing/using it, kwim? |

It's a shame that the few idiots out there with guns have to give the rest of the hunting community a bad name. My dad and sister, plus more family and friends than I feel like trying to count this early in the morning all hunt. I choose not to hunt (I'm not much for the "cleaning/field dressing" part, when it still looks like a dead animal

) but I help with the butchering and eating

. I know that all of the hunters I know personally would never shoot at something just because it moved in the woods and something was in season. We do have a problem with tresspassers on occasion, but if our bull is around he usually spooks them off pretty efficiently.
I really like Juniper's suggestion. The tape would be really visible, and would break easily if it needed to. I don't worry about anything much here. We just keep our guys in on opening day. The opener can sound like WW3, but after that all the tourists go home and it's pretty safe. Kind of odd hunting strategy, go out on the first day and never again, but whatever floats their boat.
