Sausage Boots / Fetlock Rings

My QH lease, although a very solid and wide boy, has a tendency to stand close in the hind legs and, when moving, swings his hind hooves in so that they miss his pastern by approx 1cm.

Before I knew of the existence of fetlock rings, I was looking into fetlock boots or brushing boots, but thought that he comes close a little low for those to help. Finding out that these exist is a wonderful thing for me because they are cheap, and seem to protect the right area.

So does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?

I've also read in a few places that apparently they stimulate hoof growth... Thoughts?
