Schleese Saddles

I have 4 saddles from Schleese saddlery (located in Canada but goes all over the world) and was happy with them.
Then my new horse, Roo, started getting worse and worse in dressage until finally he reared with my trainer, which is 100% out of character for him. We looked at his saddle and even to my untrained eye it was bad. So we had a different Fitter come out and she confirmed that TWO of our saddles were awful and just...wrong. So much so that I have to buy a BRAND new custom saddle for Roo. This will take 10 weeks to get in. I have FOUR MAJOR SHOWS coming up, the first of which is in two weeks. The second a week after that. The next two are out of state.
So thank you Schleese saddlery, for making saddles with staples that are obvious and a bar in the tree that literally stabs my mothers horse. We needed that.

Can you show pictures? Was this evident with the other 2 saddles? I'm curious what schleese had to say and the model of your saddles???

That's not Schleese's fault. That's your fault for not checking to make sure your old saddles fit your new horse.

Most horses don't require a custom made saddle anyways. Why don't you buy yourself a good quality saddle from a tack store and call it good? That way you won't need to worry about the time it takes to make a custom one. Most tack stores will let you take a saddle for a trial period to make sure both you and your horse like it.

Was it stabbing because it didn't fit this horse or because of a defect? Where are the staples?

Bad saddles/bad fit are a nightmare. Been there...done that. I just ordered a new saddle because my wonderful Aussie saddle doesn't fit Biscuit. I love my Aussie - I just cleaned it tonight and it looks wonderful. I did order a new Alleghany saddle and it should be here soon.

Hope you get this resolved quickly.

Just wanted to point of the Schleese is a very good brand of saddle - sells for up to 3k used. I'd equate it to Prestige, Passier, etc.

Oh I realize that. I guess my point is that there are other very good brands available without needing to go custom.
