Question Searching for stirrup style opinions

I haven't had to buy stirrups in many years. I looked around at a few sites and there are WAY more options than there were when I bought the ones I have for my dressage saddle. Back then I just bought the cheapy basic stirrups. Now, I'm older and have a little more money. I ride hunt seat. I don't jump and don't ever plan to do so. I had no idea there were so many different types and the price range is large. I don't need anything that's $200, but I'd be willing to spend up to $100 for something that's good quality and truly worth the money.

What type of stirrups do you all use and which style do you personally like the best?

When I ride English, I use the cheap ones:

Pro-Craft Stirrup Irons Pair - Statelinetack.com

I've tried 4 bar stirrups and hated them. I tried plastic ones and they hung up on my rubber soled cowboy boot (OK, I'm not quite a traditional English rider). Liked their weight, but when I pulled my right leg up and the stirrup came with it, I decided it was a no-go.

I could be tempted by these:

Korsteel Flex II Stirrup Irons - Statelinetack.com

But I honestly think the best bet for most riding is just your plain, ordinary el-cheapo stirrup. I sometimes have taken the rubber pad out of them, but my riding now is done with leather soled cowboy boots, and leather against steel doesn't have enough grip. If I use riding shoes, then I prefer the rubber sole against the plain steel.

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out if it would be beneficial for me to get the regular style stirrups instead of the flexible or jointed styles. I've heard some people say they like the jointed stirrups for dressage, but I rarely ride dressage. I typically only use my dressage saddle for trial rides, so I don't care much about stirrups.

I have jointed Metalab irons. Jointed irons seem to be a love/hate item. I loved my trainer's so much, I bought myself some. I know many people though who absolutely hate them.
