Seat Cushions

Do those gel/sheepskin seat cushions affect seat security, primarily in English saddles? I've been thinking of getting one.

I know real sheepskin seat savers give you more security on a slick seat western saddle. So I would imagine it would English too. I say "real sheepskin" because it's the leather on the bottom of the sheepskin that grips to the leather of the saddle. So fabric probably wouldn't have the same effect. Real sheepskin stays fluffier longer too. I really like them for western saddles.

I have sheepskin one for my english saddle and love it. I was thinking about getting one for western, but I don't use it all that often now.
