Should I get my own saddle?

My friend has a saddle for sale and I might be interested in it. But, I don't have a horse I just take lessons twice a week. The lesson saddles really fit me badly and they all put me in a chair seat. So I was thinking if I get my own I could improve on my position. I just don't know if it will fit the lesson horses good or not I mainly ride the same horse for every lesson though.
The saddle is a 17.5 courbette AP with a flexible tree. It is in really great shape and comes with leathers and irons and a cover all for $300.
What are your opinions?

Truthfully, I would discuss it with your instructor before making any decisions at all.

Are they aware that the lesson saddles are uncomfortable for you? Have you told them that you think they are harming your position?

Depending on your instructor, they may not let you use your own saddle even if you did buy one so that's why you need to check with them first.

Not only is everything smrobs said is right on, but the Courbette flex tree only accommodates minor variations in fit. If you get assigned to a different horse with a radically different back every so often, your saddle won't be as useful as you might have thought.
