Silly question with a monoflap saddle where do you hook the pad savers?

I am trialing yet another new saddle, but this time I think I just might have found the one.

It is a monoflap and I have never ridden in one before. I don't know if I called it the right thing, but the little velcro straps on either side of the wither area on the saddle pad? I normally loop them around the billets under the flap of my current saddle and maybe it is just me but they make a difference. When I don't use them the pad seems to shift back under the saddle. I originally thought it was the saddle moving forward, but when I loop them around the billets the pad and saddle stay in the same spot and the saddle has not moved forward on her at all from the initial position.

Anyway...with the current trial saddle the billets come off the flap at the bottom and there is no way to loop them there. I was thinking of looping them around the stirrup leather, but this is a real leather saddle and I don't want it to rub a wear mark on the nice leather. Does anyone else use those straps? Where do you loop them?

i would not loop them around the stirrup leather !

if the saddle fits well the pad shouldnt slide back at all. i like to just cut the saddle pad tabs off and just put the girth through the loop at the bottom.

There are pads for monoflaps with small tabs which attach to the front dees. Tack manufacturers get you everywhichway! :)

Hah! They sure do, don't they? I will have to search for one and see what they are like. I really love my pad though. Why is it that everytime you change 1 pieve of tack it seems like it starts an avalanche and before you know it everything is new (or at least new to you)?
