Sleazy as a fly hood?

I need a fly sheet neck cover, and the ones online are very expensive.

Would it be safe to use a lycra sleazy hood as a neck cover?

I don't know how much good it would do. With it being so thin a material and fitting so closely, it is really easy for the flies to just stick their biter through it and feast on the horse anyway. The flies around here are readily able to chew on my through my jeans if they are tight.

It would probably work OK but a sleazy is more expensive then a fly hood......

I have used a fly-wrap thing before, this is not the same brand and I can't remember what it was exactly but it was a thing that velcroed around the horses neck and smelled like citrenella. I had wraps for the ankles as well and it worked well...

I don't know about your horse but mine gets a little sweaty in his sleazy (when its warm out). You will be better off buying a new fly hood.
