I bought some this summer after everyone suggested them and they are miserable to keep on. They are so stiff and if you don't make them so tight that they cut off circulation then they slide down! I have to get my coach to look at them.. maybe I was just putting them on wrong.

I would definately invest in some.

I bought a pair of SMB II's for my mare last year and absolutely LOVE them! Wenever I go for a long, rough ride, I use them... they're the best! I'm currently saving up to buy a pair for my gelding because his leather protective boots are old and he's outgrowing them...

I may get some for jumping in future. However I'd never use them for long time or on trails. They create the pressure on leg, which is not all that healthy in long run.

ffs they dont cause problems in futer!!! get your facts right....more people like them than the ones that dont.. at end of day ANY ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNY boots even cheap sw ones can cause injuries so not just smb. funny hoe some people are just so quick to judge without knowing full facts etc.

i love them and wouldnt change it!! been using it on my horse for past 3 years with no probs...been eventing, sj, hacking, beach rides etc with no probs at all...dont slip down after go thru waters etc etc. my friends uses them too & her horse had tendon injury, has been using it for like 5 years with no probs too!!! So yehhh

In my experience, the fit is the important thing...not the brand. Depending on the shape/size of your horse's foot, some brands fit much better than others. If they don't fit well, you'll always have problems.

I don't like support boots, because they as said before, cause pressure, and they hinder the deveolopment of the muscles because they support insted of lertting the leg support itself. I use Woof Wear boots, they fit any horse, and provide great protection without the support that SMBs do. Andy you can tape the straps and they won't come off in the water.

I like them. I use SMB type boots that are a no-name brand when barrel racing and doing drill. Jumping I use a pair of roma open fronts and thinking about getting some woof boots.

I also have quite a few pairs of splint boots and polos...I rarely use them but I think they're neat looking and I like to color coordinate *Girly moment*
