so i'm looking at getting a set of VenTech ELITE SMB Sport Medicine Boots have you guys have any bad or good experiences with these? i would use them for shows mainly since they are so expensive, and i'd buy a cheaper used pair for everyday usage.

My experience with them is that they tend to hold sand. I think it may be the vent holes they have? Not sure. I love them when I am not riding in a sand arena, tho.. I just swtiched to a new kind, I can't remember the name.....will have to wait until I go back out to the barn to look at them. THey are heavier, and I love them. No sand, and much easier to put on/take off. I got them at the Road to the Horse.

yeah well the sand would definitely be a bad thing, i'll keep a look out for other kinds, though mainly i want ones that are going to come in sets of four, it's way to hard to find rear sets around here unless they just automatically come in 4's so that may help with the search as well.

The regular version of the SMB's are fine, just the newer "ventech" ones are lighter, and have perforation in the neoprene which is great on hot days, trail riding thru creeks, etc....but sand...not so much.

I will look at my new boots when I go out in the next couple of days and let you know what they are so you can look at them. Weight wise they are very similar to the more traditional SMB's.
