Smelly Saddle Pad

Last weekend I brought home a used Western saddle pad (fleece, wool, & leather) that I hosed & dripped dry. That got some of the dirt out, but now it smells to high heavens, probably old rancid sweat. Was thinking of soaking it in clear water with a bit of white vinegar to see if it would neutralize the sweat & then rinse thoroughly. Not sure if this is a good idea. I'd be much appreciative of suggestions.

Trained
Power wash with Dreft. Rinses easily.

We have also used EZall on our saddle pads!

Thank you for your info. Turns out this pad was beyond filthy & I wouldn't want to put it on my horse's back! Never seen anything so awful. At wash #25 I did the power wash & still had brown water running out. I had to scrub out my wheel barrow & soak the pad & pound it with my fists over & over again. 41 washes later, I feel like I can safely put it on my Tony boy's back & hit the trails.
