so excited for new saddle!

Just wanted to brag! I got a COUNTY COMPETITOR for $150 at my tack shops consignment sale!! It's a 1986 but it looks so good! And it's supple, and has had the billets replaces. Ok. That's all... oh wait.
It's a fit #3, but I only measured it at 5".... hmmm.

It's always something interesting....

3 fit is medium-wide.

Where did you measure it at 5" - D ring to D ring? Point pocket to point pocket? Any measurement across the front is not going to give you the width. It can only ever be a VERY rough guide when comparing to another saddle.

Hope that helps. :)

D to D. But it does fit, so excited. I was kind of surprised. I figured out a 3 was a med- wide, but just looking at it, it looked very small.

You can get a deceptive illusion looking at the front, depending on how the leather is attached to the pommel, the thickness of the panels and how the flaps and panel fall. It's difficult but you have to try to visualise the tree angles from the point pockets.

County is a great quality make. I think you had a really good deal there.
