So, I measured Chili...

and was stunned.

From now on, I'm trusting my gut. I knew she had a wide back!!

I KNEW my friend's saddle was too small, bc Chili's trot was AWFUL in her saddle and I could barely stay seated (Chili's trot is beautifully smooth).

Her saddle measured about 6 1/4"-6 3/4".

Chili measured.....

9"-11" (depending on exactly where on her withers I put the wire and TBH, I don't know if I put it on the right spot)

I talked to the BO and looked at her saddles and just by looking at them, I saw the difference. They were WIDE WIDE WIDE whereas my friend's saddle was "regular"? So, I measured her saddle - 11". HAH! At least I'm doing something right with My Chili Girl.

So, now I'm looking for a much larger saddle than I originally thought and I have a feeling it's gonna be difficult.

Have you looked in to the western wintec wide? I believe it's a 10" gullet. Don't quote me on that though. will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. ... Explore. Dream. Discover.”
