SQHB or QHB 17 or 18 inch saddle

im looking for a good brand that has semi or regular QH bars to fit a high withered tb. There is a pic for reference. Im looking to spend under 450 for an all leather no cordura saddle. I found this one in an 18 inch but it has Regular qh bars and is cordura. King Series Krypton Oversized Trail Saddle: Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com

Can any one help me? Im a size 20/22 in jeans and I am 5 foot 10 inches, jasper is 16.0hh and weight about 1100-1200 lbs in these pics

I love these two also

Get used, check out craigslist or craiglook(to search all of craigslist). Get a used brand name rather than that off brand crap. There are a lot of websites out there to get used stuff. The majority of Chicks Saddlery are crap brands...even their billy cooks aren't original billy cooks.

I know you want all leather, but It's hard to come across an 18in western saddle, they are rare, so your best bet is to get a Synthetic Big horn, they are very nice and comfy. Plus, two of the saddles you posted are synthetic.

Billy royals are pretty good, and that looks like a decent quality saddle. I would message them and ask if they will take 400$. Then negotiate up, YOu might have to save up some money.

my mom said she will pay half. So I emailed the lady (or man) with the Buffalo saddle and just said I was hoping you still had this and if you were willing to ship. I would call you but its 11PM

Erin, stay away from Buffalo. They are poorly made saddles and not worth the $350 they sell for new (or the $400 they are asking).

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

I agree, Iride. Buffalo used to make a decent saddle, but now it's all crap - unless you find one that is 25 - 30 years old...

But, I can understand how hard it is E&J. I'm 5'2" and wear a size 26. Try finding a saddle to fit THAT! If the seat fits, the stirrups are too long and the gullet is to wide. Guess they think if you need a large seat size you should be riding a flat backed draft horse!

I lucked out and got a fairly decent used saddle at a local livestock auction for $175. It fits my horse quite well, but the seat is only a 17", so it's a bit snug. (I'm working on making my personal seat smaller). The saddle isn't too terribly badly made, but it won't last more than a few years, I'm sure. Hopefully by then, I will need a smaller seat size and can find a better saddle...

Erin, junk is junk whether you ride in it once or a dozen times. The other saddles aren't as bad as the Buffalo and will hold up better. You are much better off saving for a better saddle or buying a well made used saddle. A 17" should work for you. (I have one for sale but I'm afraid it's out your price range. It's going to be in the $1,000 range).

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.
