Squeaky show saddle

I have a SQUEAKY show saddle and I don't know what to do to get rid of the squeak. Have any suggestions?

I've heard you can put baby powder between the areas that are rubbing together to fix this. I don't know how well it works though, never done it myself.

Ditto to what Sara said. I did that with my Tucker saddle and it cleared the squeaking right up! :)

I hate a squeeking saddle . The baby powder works great, get just plain baby powder no aloe or anything like that.The kind with talc not cornstarch. Turn the saddle over on something soft (carpet) sprinkle the powder up under the sturrup fenders as far as you can. I then kind of tap the saddle on the floor to get it up farther. Voila ! Silent saddle. If it starts squeeking again just reapply the powder. It may take a couple of applications to get it totally silent.

Is it the leather that's squeaking, or the metal parts??

If its the leather, you need to oil it, neatsfoot oil works great.

Forget a squeaky saddle! Lol. I have a squeaky stirrup! Grrr...its an older stirrup that's wooden with metal around it!

Yeh, never heard of baby powder.... there you go! But yes the oil works wonders, that's the worst thing about new saddles!
