Squirt needs a new name!

I wasn't really sure what subforum to put this under so I apologize!

I am getting a new guy this weekend. He's a 13yo 15.3 bay qh gelding. Rugged guy! Only problem is his name is SQUIRT! IMO I think he needs a new name. It doesn't roll off the tongue and he doesn't look like a squirt. I can't picture myself riding and showing a horse I've dreamed about with the name squirt:p any ideas????? Pleaseeee help.

I prefer people names for horses personally... For my horse I considered Jasper, Brody, and Gibson (but I also loooove the name Keagan), and changed his name from Chance to Jasper. You should go to babynames.com and look up in their advanced search a meaning that you like, or a characteristic that describes squirt and see what comes up. Hope this helps!

LOL Squirt is hillarious. You'll have to post pictures to help us come up with something. Or tell us some characteristics or color.
Reminds me of when I was shopping around for a horse. I came across a mare named patches yet she was completely solid bay. It was just strange.

Thanks for your help!!!

Keagan is a really cool name, I like that alot. I don't think he's quite a Keagan though. I am moving him to a new barn today so I will put pics up as soon as I can. I don't know him to well yet either to give characteristics. He's a total sweetheart and an in your pocket type of horse.

Also, alot of the people at the new barn and a few friends think I should call him sport. Not a great name but very similiar and not as bad as squirt! :p

I too like people names for horses. Such as
Kade
Sage
Lakota

But my all time favorite name for a horse is Paparazzi. When I get my next horse, that will be his name. I like the nickname Razzi for short.

I wouldn't worry about trying to keep their new name sounding similar to their old name. So many people have so many different nicknames for eac horse they kind of get used to reacting to different names. It did take a while for Jasper to respond to his new name, but eventually he did. I went onto babynames.com and looked for names based on his color (that's how I chose Jasper)
The meaning of the name Donnelly is Brown-haired Chieftain
The meaning of the name Harue isSpringtime Bay
The meaning of the name Calgary isPasture By The Bay
The meaning of the name Marshall is Horse Keeper (kind of cheesy because of the meaning but I thought it was a cute name)
