Stirrup Pads - White or Black? - Huntseat

Okay, I know this is a very minor detail, but I wanted the opinion of those who have shown Hunters or Equitation a lot:

Is it ... acceptable / the norm / trendy / horrifying ... to use BLACK stirrup pads in your irons for showing (mainly equitation)?

I have two pairs of Sprenger jointed irons that need new pads. They both have black rubber covering the joints. I kind of want to get black pads to match, but I'm used to seeing white pads for show.

Sprenger's pads are like $10 (not the usual buck-fifty), so I thought I'd research a little before I go buy a bunch of pairs. =) Thanks!

I really don't think it matters. Most have white or black. Just as long as the stirrup pads aren't like pink or blue, it'll be fine. You can get black. It doesn't matter.

Plus, stirrup pads are like 3 dollars, so if you get criticized, you can just go buy some white ones :D
