Stock Saddles

I am currently looking for a stock saddle for myself and of course my new horse, however I have a dilemma as to what size I should get, i'm looking at handmade second hand so it doesn't help to try in the shop! I have been told that stock saddle sizes are larger than all purposes (I don't know how as they are measured in the same scale!) but apparently a 16" stock saddle would be much too large whereas my 16" wintec all purpose is perfect. I weigh 60kg's and am about 170cm tall. Can any one give me any idea's....?

They measure them from different points - hence the difference. Wintecs and most english saddles are measured from those gold billet things at the front - You can't do that on a stock saddle because the knee rolls are in the way!
