Hi All,
I’m new here, so forgive me if I do this wrong. I am a horse husband meaning the wife has horses and I get to do barn maint and the like. In any case the wife came up with a really cool latch for sliding doors. We are trying to figure out how to promote it. Are there any good publications where we can send in a new product introduction article or get it reviewed?
Also I would really appreciate any input on the product and our website.
I would be tempted to go to Dover Saddlery and see if they'll take your product on.
Go to trade shows.
Talk to tack shops.
Talk to trailer supply companies.
Advertise in magazines.
JDI has a very good idea. Do you have the patent on it? If not, I would highly suggest that you get one. You could also contact barn manufacturers that actually build the stalls and corrals. Some of them may be willing to promote. Very good idea. I like the thought of a "crash gate" in case of emergencies.
Thanks for the quick response!
Been to the tack shows and have gotten a great response. We hear what a great idea, you're going to make millions, but no sales. Cindy hit a bunch of barn manufactures, again no bites. Wilco was interested, but without a big flashy display or a video it people can't figure it out.
Yes we have filed a patent, but it has not been granted yet.
Unfortunately that's what I was about to say.. your website, though I didn't search extensively, never told me exactly what your product does. I don't know what a SlamLoc does.
It might be a good idea to sit down and try to revamp the website so it's clear how the product works, and why it's so much better than conventional stall latches - if that's in fact what it is..
Also, you do have to spend money to make money - attractive packaging is HUGE in the horse industry. A good video will also be an asset
Best of luck!
