Sucking on the bit

Chili slurps/sucks on the snaffle bit. Is that - normal/dangerous? She's not sucking air (well, I suppose she *could* be but I can tell she's intending to slurp the bit itself)... like a sucker? LOL I assume it's a sweet iron and she likes the way it tastes??

Is this a new thing? Does she do it just with the one bit? Is she responsive to the bit otherwise?

The only other bits I've used were western curbs and she didn't respond to those well at all. This one, she responds to very well. I just wanted to make sure it's not dangerous - that she isn't sucking air in the process!!

No, not dangerous. I'm assuming the bit is adjusted correctly and not too loose? If she just sucks it at first and then warms up out of it, I wouldn't worry. If she continues throughout the ride, I'd start to think it's not the right bit for her, or suspect a dental problem, or something.
