Synthetic saddles?

Hey I've come to the conclusion that my saddle was just way too big for me. So I'm looking into other saddles and I was wondering about some brands, if brand matters.

A friend of mine REALLY likes her wintec synthetic saddle because she can go in water and it's easy to keep clean. I was wondering if anyone knows about this brand, if it's good or bad or whatnot. Any experience with them? Are they well made?

Here's one I'm looking into, I'm looking for a SQHB 15" seat trail saddle or something just to ride in if anyone wants to know. I have no idea how to ride English so I'll probably be going western.

I'm also looking at King Series saddles... let me know which one you think is better? They're both in my price range, I'm looking at under $300.. I know not much but it's what I can do for now.

Nevermind I went with the Wintec after reading some threads and deciding they have a decent enough rep.

There were lots of discussions on this forum about Wintec. I personally will NEVER get one again after the accidents with me and friend of mine. Rather get an Abetta.

King Series saddles are made in Asia on Fiberglass trees. They are NOT worth buying.

Wintecs are okay.

Abetta, Fabtron, and Big Horn are three American mad synthetics that are built on quality Ralide trees and will last!

Unfortunately I couldn't find an Abetta saddle for under $400 in the right tree.

I looked at big horn but they're out of my price range at this time, and I didn't like the look of them.. not that it would make THAT big of a difference.

I have two Big Horns. One has thousands of miles on it. (I am a former endurance rider). The other has been borrowed and borrowed and used and abused. Both are still in wonderful shape.

Saddle maker/fitter also said they are a true fit vs the other types of synthetics. Since one of my endurance horses was black and he never developed a white hair, I totally trust what my saddle maker said to be true.

I have to look into Big Horn too...

Have you looked at horse.com? All Abettas there under $400.

Abettaź Endurance Cool-Grip Saddle - Horse.com
Abettaź PathFinder Saddle - Horse.com
Etc.

Although if you need a specific size (like full qh bars) then it indeed may be more hard to find.

What size tree are you looking for?

There are some nice used Big Horns and Abettas on eBay right now. What seat size do you need? Color preference?
