I got a Wintec All Purpose and love it. It holds up well, you don't have to oil it or anything, it's light weight, and I can do anything with it (Trail to basic dressage, ect.)

I highly reccomend synthetic saddles. (mostly because I don't like the idea of putting an animal's hide on my horse) They're also way easier to care for.
I have the Wintec close contact saddle in the carmel color. It looks good, feels nice to ride in, and has fit several horses very well. I love it! I've also owned the Wintec 250 AP and it was great too.

Has anyone tried the wintec dressage saddle. Another brand available here is Eurohunter. Anyone have an opinion on this brand.

I had a bighorn synthetic oh, 20 years ago. Loved it then, it was easy for a kid to lift. Word of caution, though... when it comes to the rigging - billets, cinch, please use leather. Nylon doesn't let the horse breathe. Latigo leathers will stretch as the horse breathes. Nylon will just either be too tight or slip at the wrong time.

For western, I agree with Southern, Abetta, Fabtron, or Big Horn.

This is good to hear, because I am going to be purchasing a Thorowgood brand saddle for $100 with breast plate, stirrups, leathers, girth and bridle. Mint condition. I am glad to hear that it is a good brand that has been well received.
