Tack sale scores!

Yesterday there was a 4-H consignment sale at a local arena. We went for the fun of it, ideally looking for a new cinch for my daughter. We completely hit the jackpot!

I got her one of these Triple E Fleece Lined Cinch - Statelinetack.com for $2. She needed a bigger cinch because her lesson pony has eaten well this winter.

I also got her a brand new rear cinch for $10. It's a lighter leather than her saddle, but it had never been used...the white stitching is completely spotless and unscathed. I think we can get some darker oil but it doesn't matter.

I also got her these boots Roper Apparel & Footwear Ladies Footwear worn just a few times for $18...

So total I spent $31, then as I was getting in my truck I found a $10 bill under the edge of the tire, so technically I ended up with the rear cinch for nothing. She is so excited. She had an old rope cinch that my aunt gave her with the saddle, but it was barely big enough, and she's not fond of it, so she's been wanting a new one.

I went to our annual tack store garage sale and think I did decently. I got a beautiful Grand Prix coat for $140, but a Cavalier Combo Stormbreaker blanket for $119 and a Mattes Dressage pad (reg $280) for $90! I was happy.

I love finding the good deals! I am always searching when I can. I have a 10 yr old daughter and nothing is inexpensive. Thank goodness for others who have been in my shoes : )

Horses and children, I often think, have a lot of the good sense there is in the world.

Awesome deal!

Last year I found a gorgeous leather breastcollar with real silver all over it at Goodwill for $15!! The ladies working there had no idea what it was; I was psyched!

equiniphile - awesome! I love godwill. I got two danish eames chairs for $25 then when I moved I sold them for $400. Love the misinformed salespeople there!
