I have always grown up around horses but only casually rode them until this year. My family has a small tack shed that has now almost doubled since I purchased my first horse. About a month ago we remodeled our shed adding a few more horse stands, a blanket rack, organized all of our headstalls and halters. We also made a section with bins for our grooming and farrier supplies. I have enought tack to handle 10-15 horses yet I only have 4 currently. Yesterday I visited two tack stores and a private seller. And came away with a new halter, lead rope, set of reigns, blanket, and a new training stick. I have no need for any of these things yet each day I am checking the classifieds for that good deal on a new saddle. It has become an addiction for me to collect this stuff. This thread is to share with others your tack addiction stories, to just let it out, get it in the open. Post up a picture of your tack shed, or brag about a killer deal you just scored. I will happily join this thread, I buy three different magazines each week to see if there are any nice bits of tack I can use or store for future use, I go into co ops all the time and buy rugs even if they wont fit my horses for 3 years, im obsessed I have an entire room in my house devoted to horse stuff

My horse supply steal of the day was a slightly used SMX air ride pad for $25! I figured I would give it a try to decide if I want to invest in a new one.

I'm addicted to bridles, just bought a new one today......must STOP!!!

I have three saddles, all of which fit my one horse... xD
I don't use them all, not in the least, but I can hardly bear to sell the one I am selling
just to get a new one. ^.^ I have four english flash bridles as well, and am asking for a new one for Christmas. I have uhh... five crops in similar sizes, two winter blankets, and a plethora of grooming supplies, all of which I have aquired in the past year, owning my first horse. I never owned anything, now I'm overloading the tack room!

I am worse than a tackaholic...I am a tack HOARDER.

I have 4 saddles and countless fittings, and at least 7 bridles, numerous sets of horse boots...and I ride 2 horses.

The saddest part is that I have sold a great deal of my tack this year, but I have bought tons more stuff as well....I'm not doing this right! Lol

I just found a new tack store that has by far the best pricing I have seen in a long time. I have been there twice this week... Bought a new halter, and lead rope.

My Paint's color is yellow, so if I find any kind of horse equipment in a bright yellow, I get it. Buckets, brushes, wraps, everything. As long as it's yellow.

I also collect things I have never and probably never will use. I have probably a dozen bridles, I only use one. I have another dozen halters, I only use two. I have a surcingle that I've used like twice, I have a driving harness that I've never used and it wouldn't fit my mare anyway, but maybe my yearling. I have several running martingales, that I never even plan on using. I've got like, five sets of polo wraps, and I only use one. Four fly masks, two of which are EXACTLY the same. I have one waterproof blanket, a sheet, a cooler, several stable blankets and a MILLION hoods. I have a shoulder guard and two sleezy hoods to wear under the blanket hoods that are never actually worn. I have enough sets of reins for three times as many bridles as I even have, I also have more bits than I can count. All this stuff is just hanging around, waiting for a day that I just might possibly maybe use on a future horse. O_O

I also have several pairs of breeches and half a million pairs of shoes at the barn for barn use.

Me too...4 saddles, too many bridles to count, tons of halters, leads, leg wraps, etc...I LOOOOVE new tack; and of course, when you get a new bridle you have to get the bit, chinstrap, etc, to match it...even though you might have the same one at home...ahahaha!

Does anybody have some medium smb's for sale in their pile of treasures? Haha. :)
