No, I'm about 20 minutes away to the west. Rockford is just a better reference point. Are you in Rockford?

I bought a saddle, 2 bridles, a million polo wraps, and everything before I even had a horse!! And the horse that I have isn't even actually mine, just my trainer's horse who I have as my "own" for a little while!

Of course, none of my tack fits that horse, so I had to buy all new stuff for him!!! And he just looks so good in every colour, I have to have everything in every colour!

But mostly i'm a rider-attire-aholic. I have 4 pairs of breeches (two are identical cream jodhpurs, and two are identical black breeches), but I needed a pair of full-seat breeches, so I went into this nifty little second hand tack shop, and I came out with two pairs of full-seat breeches, one in purple and the other is grey with reflective strips and plenty of insulation, as well as a pair of blue plaid jodhpurs!!! And I ride in jeans or sweats when i'm not in a lesson, so that's just a wee bit too much, don't you think? As well, I have 4 crops, 4 pairs of boots and 3 helmets! And don't even get me started on how many horse books I have!!

I went to a tack and horse equiptment auction on Saturday. It was very unfortunate that I only brought $140. I would have spent much more than that, they had incredible deals! And a lot of the stuff they had was things that I "need" however I am very proud of the purchase that I did get. A 16" all-tooled roping saddle. I now have 5 saddles and 3 horses, I guess it is time to get another horse... Or admit myself in another Tackaholics Anonymous meeting.

No, I'm in Harvard. So I guess that I'm east of you. Neat! I didn't think that there was anyone on here near me. That's fun. :)

OOO! And back to being on topic: I got a new saddle, pad, and girth like a week ago! I love it!!

The red nylon tack that will be part of Honey's "Christmas Ensemble" came in today. I have light up reindeer antlers, red glitter gel, red glitter hoof polish, and a red and green beaded mane clip. Once the custom Christmas saddle pad gets here, she'll be set for the season. Have I mentioned that I haven't even thought about putting up the X-mas tree? Yet, I'm already thinking ahead to a saddle pad for Valentine's Day.

Yes, I'm a tackaholic when it comes to "seasonal" outfits for my girl! I don't go anywhere or do anything for St. Patty's day, but I'm already looking for green tack! And then there's Easter, July 4th, Halloween.......

This will get expensive. Its a good thing I can't find saddles in different colors for the holidays! That would be dangerous. Husband will have to have an intervention soon!

I have been practicing self control lately, yesterday I went tack shopping and resisted purchasing another saddle. Instead I came home with two new western bridles.
