Are these saddle flaps too short?

I was looking over some pictures from yesterday, and noticed that the flaps looked very short. I was comparing them to other's pictures, and most people have the flaps 1/2 to 3/4 down their calves. I am fairly tall (5'11-6'0) and I have to ride in schoolie saddles. And I have trouble with leg slippage while jumping, could this be part of the problem? Sorry about the blurryness of the pictures, my mom doesn't know how to use the SLR well.

I know about my arms and hunchback, I'm trying hard to work on that, urgh. His neck isn't that skinny, the picture...did something.

Very unflattering photo on my part, my shirt is too big and made a "poof".

And here's so you can see my disgusting leg slippage.

Yes, they do seem a bit smaller. But it could be just because your much taller, and have more..'leg'. Have you tried a different saddle? That might be the problem with your leg slipping as well. The half chaps don't have much to grip on, so therefore your legs are slipping back.

You and your horse look very good together though!

I can't try a different saddle because this is the only one that fits his back the best. (I'm using the barn's saddles because he's a school horse.) Plus it's also my fav. Saddle because it the biggest saddle they have with knee rolls.

Thank you! This is the first horse in 5 years that suits my height for me!

Haha, I bet its hard to find a horse your size. ITs not a bad thing being tall though.

And I know what you mean about not having another saddle to ride in. My favorite saddle at my barn doesnt fit my horse! So I have to use one that's a bit older. Because I don't have my own saddle yet...errggg.

Yeah, I was usually put on horses from 15-15.3hh. Jordan is 17.2hh! The saddle is an oldschool Stubben Siegfreid(sp) and is hard like a rock haha. I was searching for saddles at Christmas time. And I was really suprised that hardly anybody carries 18" saddles! But I'm guessing I would have needed to order a long flap length anyways.

I live in New York, and here its not that hard to find an 18" saddle for western. But english yes!

Can you get saddles with custom flaps? Like longer or shorter? I've never heard of that before. But I have never really ordered a saddle so that's probably why.

I have an 18in saddle I'm looking to sell if you're interested. It's a close contact with a wide tree.
