Thorowgood Saddles

I'm in the process of purchasing a Thorowgood Saddle for my horse. I need some help deciding whether or not to purchase the T4 Standard All Purpose, or the T4 Cob or Broadback saddle, which is one designed for rounder builds.

I cannot have one fitted before I buy it, as I'm getting mine shipped out from the states. There are only 2 dealers in Australia and only one will 'Ocassionally' (on the phone it sounded more like begrudgingly!) ship to Canberra. Basically I can get one from the States for much cheaper than in Australia.

Here is some pics of my girl, let me know what you think. She's about 14.2 QH. Once I have the saddle, I will get it fitted by a saddler fitter and 'fingers crossed' it fits!

Heres a link to the Thorowgood site for the cob: http://www.thorowgood.com/T4CobGP.html

You might contact Thorowgood direct. Ask if they can evaluate wither tracings for you to determine which tree shape and size would be best for your horse. Most saddle comapnies can have you scan and email or fax wither tracings and they can tell which tree size will work best for your horse.

Most QH's are the regular model, but she might me the high wither model. There's a drafting tool called flexicurve. You can get at any crafts/arts store. It's perfect for a wither tracing. Like Luvs said, just give the company the measurements and they'll be able to tell you which one will fit.

On another note, Thorowgoods now come with adjustable gullets, so you have a little more latitude.
