I'm looking to buy an English saddle. I mainly ride western but would like to be able to occasionally ride English. I put an ad on and someone responded saying they have a Thorowgood. It looks ugly as sh** to be honest. I mean it's in great condition, the build is just.... ugly. Here's a pic.

Are these saddles any good? I think I heard someone talking about them being great saddles, but I'm not sure if that was a Thorowgood,[/img]

I have one-- I don't use it anymore, but they are good saddles, they seem to have a good fit on most horses. I have the Dressage one, not the all purpose one.

(I'm thinking of selling mine, since I don't use it...if you want it.)

I asked this same question in another forum and all my answers were "great saddles" so I think I'm going to buy one. Or trade one, rather. I'm trying to find someone to trade my AP medium tree for a CC or AP wide tree.

I'm only looking for a CC or an AP, not a dressage. Thanks, though.

That's fine, I hope you find a good one!

Yeah, especially if your not going to be showing excessively in it, they are nice, good and inexpensive!
