A thought for kids out there

Every so often I am reminded of how I wish I had treated/appreciated some piece of tack better...today was one of those days. Soooo, to the youngsters out there I just wanted to tell you something I dearly wish someone had hammered into me as a kid. If someone gives you a nice piece of tack/accessory, especially if they are talented and gifted and make something for you....treat it like gold. There will come a day you will really wish you had if you do not. Kids often have no true appreciation for what something is worth, or the talent of others. And, a piece that someone made for you with love is irreplaceable.

Just a "for what it is worth".

There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.

Haha, I'm a youngin' and ANY time I hit a saddle and risk it being scratched, I panic because I hate the idea of having a shorter life-span for my saddles. I can't afford to constantly buy tack so I take darn good care of mine.

My saddle is an absolute ancient wintec. Its so banged up that I don't really care if it gets scratched. I'll be getting a new one as soon as I learn to surf... (My dad is bribing me.)
