Turning Tendon Boots- sport medicine boots instead?

ok. this is my situation. my 7yr old pacing mare can crossfire sometimes. we have done everything we can to prevent it. she has double trailers behind on her shoes, shes now sound, etc. etc. she rarely crossfires anymore. she used to do it all the time and now one ankle is larger than the other from old scartissue (this is from before i owned her). right now we wear tendon boots, with half a wrap of vetwrap underneath on each ankle, and we tape the boots to the leg around the ankle. her problem is that IF she does happen to crossfire, she typically spins the tendon boot around so it no longer has any protection on the inside, and then continues to crossfire and makes a big mess of herself.

im wondering about switching to sport medicine boots. ive never used these before. im thinking with these if she hits she either will A- not be able to spin them or B- even if she does spin them, they will still cover her where shes hitting.

anyone use the sport medicine boots? how do you like them? what do you think about switching?

I love SMB's!! Would never use tendon boots again as I've had the same problem with them turning when struck.

I would recomend though that you go on Ebay and look up horse boots, and get yourself a pair of neoprene wrap around boots. They're pretty much exactly the same as SMMB for about 1/3 of the price. I got mine from Caribu Horseware, I'm sure they'd post overseas , I highly recomend their boots, mine have lasted ages and other than turning orange (they're white, arena sand is orange haha!) they are perfectly in tact. They don't move around, slip etc and fit beautifully.
