Union Hill Dressage Pad?

I got my Union Hill Dressage pad in from St. Croix Saddlery the other day, and I went to the barn today to see how it worked, although I couldn't ride because of the rain. I put my Stubben Parzival Dressage saddle on one of the horses, Gracie to see how it fit her, and it fit well. The issue was the pad. I didn't take pictures, but it seemed pretty long on her.

I'm not sure how it fits the TB, Goldie, that I ride also, she is out with an ankle injury.

Anyone else had this issue with Union Hill pads? I'm afraid the pad will get in the way of my cues. Should I order another pad? It seemed long on her, so is there anything I can do to shorten it at all? I noticed my saddle doesn't have long billets like some saddles do, so the girth was on the pad. Should I try an AP pad, or get a smaller one? The pad also seems a bit thin, so should I get a half pad, like this one:

Thanks!
